Aikido

Sibok Gee Wong will teach you the joint locks, take downs, and pressure point techniques that define our Aikido program as one of the most practical of all Martial Arts disciplines.

Aikido is a Japanese martial art developed by Morihei Ueshiba. Ueshiba’s goal was to create an art that practitioners could use to defend themselves while also protecting their attacker from injury.

Aikido is performed by blending with the motion of the attacker and redirecting the force of the attack rather than opposing it head-on. This requires very little physical strength, as theaikidoka (aikido practitioner) “leads” the attacker’s momentum using entering and turning movements. The techniques are completed with various throws or joint locks. Aikido can be categorized under the general umbrella of grappling arts.

Our Aikido program is one of the best in Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, and Waterloo Region, and is taught under the guidance of Sibok Gee Wong.

As our most experienced Black Belt with over 30 years of Martial Arts experience, Sibok Gee will teach you the joint locks, take downs, and pressure point techniques that define Aikido as one of the most practical of all Martial Arts disciplines.
